Very sad and skeptical lines Amitji Its just a matter of perspective! Tomorrow you may suddenly find "life" and "laughter" in this very city of betrayal and disillusionment and a "true friend" amidst dark unfeeling shadows...who knows?
Ek akela is shahar mein...the song comes to my mind reading this haiku..and I agree with Geetashree who knows what you may find here. Best things in life often come disguised. :)
Amitji, your lines bring to mind the song from Gaman....seene mein jalan, aankhon mein toofan sa kyon hai. Similarly, I am wondering what brought the toofan to your pen here? Cruelty and kindness; both exist everywhere and both are necessary to experience to decide which path to take, no?
Very sad and skeptical lines Amitji
