This post is dedicated to Sunaina Sharma for her true interpretation and evaluation of this poem..

  2. It reminded me of Surdas's verse: "Ek nadiya ek naal kahawat....Prabhu ji mere avgun chit na dharo."

  4. One of my favorite poems from the collection. Thanks so much for the mention and the dedication. A reader too is like 'गन्दा नाला'who is purified, cleansed, by writings like these. No wonder they say that pen is mightier than the sword.

  9. Amit, anguished gratitude beautifully expressed. These lines could reflect the burden human civilisation places on Mother Nature as well. She has kept up trying to purify human waste. But how long can she take the load?

    1. Exactly, Lata! In fact the very thought occurred when I saw a huge nullah carrying town waste merging into the sea; and then the thought got converted into a feeling..with a bit of philosophy..
Thank you for your interpretation too:)
