On a different note, I remembered the lines from "Kitna madhur...tera mera pyaar", where he says "yaad tu aaye man ho jaaye beed ke beech akela" :) Though that is where the mind divorces itself from its surroundings and immerses itself in love, the contrast in 'beed ke beech akela" as in your "masroof hamesha, tanha hoon main" was striking.
What a juxtaposition of two contrasting emotions!
