  2. Well expressed--so concise.
Haiku is no less potent than the memories.

  5. Amitji, hope you will not consider this as an impertinence, but haiku is something which can be played with innumerable times ...the same thought interpreted and presented in several ways. When I read yours, especially, the one in Hindi (incidentally I didn't know haikus are written in Hindi also, my lack of knowledge, of course) the same thought played in my mind...like this

    A flicker of a match
    Finger burnt
    Remembrance

I hope, once again, you will not consider this a "gustakhi" on my part.

Your haiku was a marvellous one

Incidentally, I don't know much about haikus and whenever I have written one I have been told by the learned ones that these are not haikus...so you know...:)

    1. Hey Geetashree! Request you no words like 'impertinence' and 'gustakhi' between us, KINDLY:)
Your response overwhelms me. In fact the one in Hindi(original) is technically correct as it meets the requirement of the meter: 5-7-5 syllables (verna); I'm not sure about the English translation as the rules always confuse me...
The essentials for this centuries old Japanese poetry form have undergone lots of research and modifications since it became popular in Western countries a few decades back.
Please don't get disheartened if some learned ones don't recognize yours as 'haiku', just keep learning and keep writing, experimenting:), that's what I'm doing and we all should!
Learning is a process and I'm glad to have fellow travelers like you with me on this journey! Cheers!!
PS: Loved your version of my thought, without getting into technicalities:):)
