Allegiance

Black swarms
Of golden bees
Assailed me and forgot
 I didn’t use cell phone
To help them proliferate..
When I ducked
Underwater
To save my life
The sharp coral
Never knew
I worked to
Conserve them too!

  5. Nature fulfills its commitment to nature regardless of what we do. So good of you to do things that conserve it. Even if nature doesn't directly thank you, you know you're committed to the right thing. And I thank you.

    1. In fact that is the central thought, the very spirit of this poem...I have used bees and coral symbolically to portray the 'thorns of life'!
Thank you Indu ma'am for your excellent understanding:)

  8. May we all be committed.
It may seem that nature is not acknowledging, but there's the law of Karma!

  11. It's irony that nature doesn't distinguish between helper and destroyer. Getting stung...hmmm

  12. such a lovely message. continue to work for other's welfare even if they continue to hurt you or are unaware that you are working for their good. Is this what you meant? Loved the thought.

  18. On one level, you could see it as being assailed by those whom you protect. On another level, it could mean that you protect because it is the right thing to do and not because you expect gratitude in return - 'Karmanyeva adhikarasthe' and all. Great, Amit.
