कोयल रोये
कितने पेड़ कटे
ठूँठ उदास

  3. kaun jaane kiska dard zyada hai - koyal kahin aur ja ke aashiyana banaegi par woh ghar ghar na hoga......toonth to kahin ja bhi na paega....

    1. You have once again stunned me, Sunaina, with your exact interpretation...in fact I wanted to say behind the words in this haiku that crying, although more outwardly than sadness, is just an expression; while the latter is a state. Koyal toh ro kar phir se bas jaayegi par thoonth to hamesha barbaad hi rahega...koyal ka rona dikhai/sunaai deta hai lekin thoonth ki khamosh udaasi ka kyaa..?
Thanks tonz for making my effort successful with your immense understanding:):)

    2. Honored by the mention Amit ji....What leaves an indelible impression on my mind and heart is precisely poetry like this. It fills me with a strange kind of feeling...should I call it 'joy' I don't know....Maybe, as a poet you will know better what kind of feeling I am referring to....Something that makes me come alive.....I wish I could write like this too.....:)....what appears palpable to the sight affects us immediately....what is impalpable but still strongly present (like the stub's invisible pain) is what only sensitive hearts like yours can see....:)

  7. Brilliant, Sir.

I guess many are sad because of wood burning. It creates a lot of pollution. Wish our government can find alternate and affordable means.

    1. Yes, wood burning is a burning issue no doubt, and so is felling of trees in the name of development:(
      Thank you Saru:)

  8. Very nice one Amitji --- even the "Thoonth" is sad probably because

the hands that once tilled the lands
    and brought the earth prosperity
have killed the fauna and cut the flora.
and have brought in deserts so arid
there is no shade the sun has burnt
and the rivers that flow are acid.
