  1. Ah.... what a sad choice for H Amit.
I wish nobody would ever feel the need to choose that way of life...

    Have a nice ABC-day / – week

    1. Hermitage does not necessarily imply solitary confinement. It also means a secluded life to wed solitude and silence to delve deep within.

    3. You are right... I've responded to my first emotion by the word..
If one chooses to live in that way then it is okay ofcourse

    4. @Melody: Sadness is a part of life and it helps us appreciate gaiety..let's live it too and then transcend both:) Thank you for a thought provoking comment:)
      Have a great week:)

  2. It feels so desolate but I love the textures and feel of the place.

  3. I often wonder why people become hermits.
However this place looks perfect for meditation and 'ekantwas'.

    1. I once attended a 10 days Vipassana course where the practitioners were given solitary cells to meditate in..which I somehow felt claustrophobic. I would love to stay in a place like this for months together..
Thank you Indu ma'am for the food for thought in the first part of your comment:):)

  6. I like the roof which detracts from the austerity of the building.

  8. I don't think of hermits living in such an open space. Perhaps it's a place hermits rest while coming in for supplies before heading up to their isolated quarters in the hills.

    1. You're right Susie but this could be a living quarter up in the hills too!
Thank you for your observation and interest:)

  13. Thank you Amit Ji, this is the perfect gift for me ! Exactly where I'd love to be in my present state of mind. And no you're not insane or abnormal, aur agar hain bhi toh count me in :p I was once sane, but now I'm better. Insanity is restored and thank God for it :)))

  15. Back in time even joint families used to live together peacefully in such small homes. But the best thing in this picture, Amit, is the small brick pot made by the side of the house, that used to feed the stray birds and animals. This picture became perfect and holds a 'Happy' feeling to it because of the brick pot.
